Tacos 1 1/2 pounds
lean ground beef In large skillet, brown ground beef, strain excess fat. return ground beef to skillet. Over medium heat add onion, cook until tender. Add tomato, cumin and stir. Evenly distribute chili powder into mixture, add jalapenos, stir and cook until all ingredients are well blended. Salt to taste. Note: Spice level is determined by amount of chili powder and jalapenos, personally preferred. Fill a 7" flour tortilla with two tablespoons of meat filling. Fold tortilla in half and secure ends with toothpick. Heat 1/2 cup oil. With tong place taco into hot oil, cook each side of taco until golden brown. Place tacos onto paper towels at a slant to drain excess oil. Remove toothpicks, open pocket and garnish with chopped lettuce, thick and chunky salsa, garnish with Cacique Queso Fresco or Cotija Cheese, top with Cacique Crema Agria. Makes 10 Tacos |
